"The telematics industry has always been innovative and produced decent numbers but the evolution of mobile wireless networks, handsets, operating systems, components and the growing number of meaningful applications all spell good fortune for in-vehicle providers and mobile carriers," said Larry Swasey of Visant Strategies. Study details include United States telematics subscribers and revenues and the nation's high-tier service users and revenues through 2012 as well as satellite radio users and revenues through 2011. Global Telematics users and revenues are also segmented as are those for Europe and Japan through 2011as well as keys to growth in these latter nations. Also included are the number of navigation-enabled vehicles worldwide, in the United States, Japan and Europe, and the number of portable GPS devices being shipped through 2011. Shipments of GPS-enabled mobile phones and devices are given through 2011 as are the number of GPS-enabled service users and high-end mobile application users.
